How to File an RTI Application: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Identify the Correct Public Information Officer (PIO)

You need to address your application to the Public Information Officer (PIO) or Assistant Public Information Officer (APIO) of your Municipal Corporation or Municipality. In urban local bodies, this officer can often be found in the office of the Executive Officer, Municipal Commissioner, or a specifically designated ‘Public Information Cell’.
